UAT2 – How to Create & Embed Product Comparison Sliders

This tutorial will show you how to set up and embed product review sliders using your Ultimate Azon Theme published reviews.

How to Embed your Finished UAT2 Product Reviews Slider.

We’re adding this information first for quick access if you have finished sliders you want to embed. In a future update we will be adding a “Embed Slider” button above everywhere you can add them.

For now, here is how to manually embed your product slider.

In your WordPress dashboard, click on “Sliders” in the left admin column. You will see a shortcode in the righthand column of each table you have created.

It will look similar to this:  [uat2_slider id=”248″ / ]

Copy and paste this shortcode into any page or post and your product slider will be displayed there.

 

How to Create New UAT2 Product Review Sliders.

This section outlines how to set up the UAT2 built in custom product review sliders.

Click “Sliders -> Add New”

Slider Single Post Intro

When you are editing a Slider post, and you click “view slider” or “preview slider”, you will be taken to a webpage that displays your table. This content is displayed above your Table on the page the visitor sees.

* We recommend using the Yoast SEO plugin, and setting the “Table” post type to “noindex”, or these posts previewing your tables will be indexed in Google.

 

Type of Slider

There are 5 different types of sliders that you can build.

  • Posts Slider – Build a slider of your blog posts.
  • Pages Slider – Build a slider of your pages.
  • Custom Content Slider – Build a slider with your own custom content in each slide
  • Product Reviews Slider – Build a simple product review slider.
  • Ultimate Comparison Pro – Build a product review slider with the specifications anchored on the left, and the products scrolling on the right.

Let’s walk through each one of the slider types one at a time.

Posts Slider

To create a slider of your blog posts, choose “Posts Slider” as your slider type.

 

Option 1 – Posts Source – Latest Posts

By choosing “Latest Posts”, you can create a slider that will pull in your latest posts and auto-update as you publish new posts. A fun way for your visitors to navigate your website.

 

When choosing this option, you can now choose how many posts you would like to be pulled into your slider.

Option 2 – Posts Source – Choose Specific Posts

By choosing “Choose Specific Posts”, you can create a slider that will display a specific set of posts of your choosing. This option does not auto-update when you publish new posts.

Add as many rows of information you want to add into your slider. You can also set the alignment of each to left, right, or center.

Pages Slider

The “Pages Slider” is similar to the “Posts Slider”, but it pulls in pages of your choosing instead of posts.

To create a slider of your pages, choose “Pages Slider” as your slider type.

 

Choose Page Fields

Add as many rows of information you want to add into your slider. You can also set the alignment of each to left, right, or center.

Choose which pages to include in your pages slider.

 

Custom Content Slider

The “Custom Content Slider” is there for you to make a slider out of any content that you would like.

To create a custom slider, choose “Custom Content Slider” as your slider type.

 

Add Slides

Now you can add as many slides as you would like with your own custom WYSIWYG editor for each slide.

* All shortcodes may not work in this slider.

 

Product Reviews Slider

The “Product Reviews Slider” is there for you to make a slider out pf any content that you would like.

To create a custom slider, choose “Product Reviews Slider” as your slider type.

 

Product Review Slider Types

Now you can choose to pull all information directly from Amazon, or use one of your custom product specification sets.

 

Pull all Products directly from Amazon

We’ll cover this first. When choosing this option, make sure to “update”, “publish”, or “save draft” to make your field choices available for the next step.

 

Choose Slides Fields

This is where you will add rows of product information to your slides. Keep in mind that the more you add, the taller your slider will be and may not work well on mobile.

* We recommend not displaying the features as they are often long.

For each slide, set each of these.

  • Fields – Choose which Amazon field you would like to display.
  • Alignmen
    • Left
    • Right
    • Center
  • Link – Link this to your Amazon Affiliate Link, or no link
  • Show Label – Check this =to display the “Field” as a label in the slider

 

 Add Amazon Products

Now you can search Amazon and add as many products as you would like. Click “Search Amazon, type in a keyword, and choose an item. The click “Add Field” (Should Be Add Product) to add another product.

Field Alignment

This field is left over and NOT in use. Set each field’s alignment as noted above.

 

 

Choose Specification Group

When choosing this option, make sure to “update”, “publish”, or “save draft” to make your field choices available for the next step.
